WCCS Students Named to ACCS All-Alabama Academic Team

SELMA, Ala. - April 22, 2024 - The Alabama Community College System (ACCS) proudly recognized 48 outstanding scholars from across the state during the 2024 All-Alabama Academic Team Recognition Program held at the Embassy Suites Birmingham on Friday, April 19. These scholars, including Keshona Hunter and Brian Jones from Wallace Community College Selma (WCCS), were awarded scholarships totaling over $58,000 in recognition of their exceptional achievements.

Selected by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society members, Hunter and Jones distinguished themselves through their academic excellence, intellectual rigor, leadership, and service. Their dedication to extending their education beyond the confines of the classroom to positively impact society has been instrumental in their selection for this prestigious honor.

The All-Alabama Academic Team recognition program, established in 1995, is a testament to ACCS's commitment to fostering and celebrating excellence in academia. It is a collaboration between Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, USA Today, and the American Association of Community Colleges, mirroring the national All-USA Academic Team Program.
